Know the History of FUE Hair Transplant in Turkey from Want Hair Ltd
In 1999, a dermatologist from Australia discovered FUE, a hair transplant method pioneered by Woods. This exciting technique, known as FUE, can avoid scars on the back of the head, often caused by traditional Strip Strip operations. (Information Credit: https://wanthair.co.uk/hair-transplant-turkey)
With the increasing prevalence of the internet during the 2000s, communication between individuals considering hair transplantation and medical professionals has significantly improved in speed and accessibility. As a result, Fue has gained popularity among those seeking technical hair transplantation services.
Companies like Want Hair Ltd also engaged in research and development using this method as a physician. Their efforts have yielded conclusive findings. In 2003, my colleagues and I began implementing the FUE technique — utilizing the unclear tool designed by Mehmet Kovulmaz — at Turkey’s first hairline clinic in Ankara.
We could only extract 500–600 grafts daily through manual punching during that period. We relied on the stick-and-place technique to transfer these grafts, carrying them individually. As a result, some patients had to undergo as many as five sessions in one go. The demanding nature of this FUE procedure often left patients exhausted and requiring anaesthesia.
The micromotor and surgical punch have replaced the manual punch in modern hair transplantation. Since 2009, this method has dramatically increased the popularity of the Fue technique. Due to its efficiency, up to 3000 grafts can be collected in just one hour. Following this stage, FUE hair transplants are now performed practically everywhere. While this has been a major victory over the old FUT technique, it has also led to its overuse and promotion as a mere “beauty salon procedure” deemed acceptable for anyone. Unfortunately, this is the downside of its widespread adoption.
Regardless of the technique chosen, it is essential to master its application and have a thorough understanding of its medical and surgical foundations. Whether performing FUT or FUE, using a slit knife or round needles, the key is to execute it skillfully. This will ultimately yield similar results regardless of the specific technique utilized.
Within this scenario, Micro FUE, Innovative FUE, and Organic hair planting are all forms of online marketing that utilize the term “difference” to generate interest in the FUE process. However, it is crucial to note that no established medical or surgical backing exists for these techniques. Patients must know that hair transplantation is a medical and surgical procedure and should not be influenced by team names or adjectives attached to the FUE method. The critical factor is having the procedure performed directly by a qualified doctor rather than focusing on additional labels or descriptors.
Hair transplantation is a multi-step process that begins with an initial examination and concludes with the final result after eight months. The procedure takes place on one day, followed by periodic check-ups over those eight months.
